Mysteries and Monsters: Episode 104 Nick Redfern
Nick Redfern returns to Mysteries and Monsters to help us kick of the new year in style and act as our guide as we delve into the mysteries of the red planet and his book "The Martians".
Mars has captivated us for centuries, from the Romans and Greeks up to the present day and our current exploration of the planet's surface. Nick and I discuss many of the aspects of his book, from the alleged sightings of canal's upon the surface, weird anomalies sighted in photographs, secret NASA programs and the potential for a civilisation ending event that could have been responsible for the end of a Martian civilisation.
Nick also covers a couple of cases from his preceding book "Monsters Of The Deep" too as we look at strange creatures in the London underground and creepy sandwich stealing ghost in a pit.
It was great to have Nick return to the show and both of his most recent books are highly recommended.

Mysteries and Monsters: Episode 103 Krissy Eliot
As we end the year, we welcome back Krissy Eliot to discuss the possibilities of the intelligence of plants. Krissy has just written a fantastic article for Edge Science magazine that looks in to the potential for sentience in plant life.
Whilst these cutting edge theories have been on the fringes of science for centuries, more and more scientists are uncovering some rather intriguing evidence to suggest we know next to nothing about the world of plants and how they actual live.
We cover numerous experiments, discuss the reality of plant networking, support, the response to predators even when unable to see or feel them and many other weird and wonderful discoveries covered in Krissy's outstanding article.

Mysteries and Monsters: Episode 102 American Mysteries
In the first hour, we have Mary Joyce discussing her book "Cherokee Little People Were Real". We discuss testimonies of men who discovered ancient little tunnels, small skeletons and even a child-size skull with all its wisdom teeth when they were working on early construction projects at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
In the second part of the show, I am joined by Dennis Stone, owner of the enigmatic site near Salem, New Hampshire. Dennis has inherited the site and has spent the best part of 40 years trying to get the bottom of this unusual construction.
To say the site is controversial would be an understatement and Dennis takes us through some of the unusual buildings and investigations carried out during this time.
A big thank you to both my guests for joining me today.

Mysteries and Monsters: Episode 98 Boggy Creek with Lyle Blackburn
It's a warm welcome back to one of our favourite guests, the marvellous Lyle Blackburn to discuss his fantastic new book, Boggy Creek Casebook.
Stories of the Fouke Monster came to public attention in the early 70's with both a terrifying incident in 1971 and Charles.B.Pierce's cult classic, The Legend of Boggy Creek in 1972. The success of the film has made Boggy Creek a household name in the world of Cryptozoology.
Yet, as Lyle's book clearly demonstrates, encounters had been occurring for several decades prior to the flap in the 1960's and early 1970's and continue to this day.
Lyle and I discuss his continuing relationship with both the people of Fouke and its infamous cryptid, some of the most notable cases in the book and much more besides.
As always, it was a pleasure to speak with Lyle again and I am sure you'll enjoy our conversation.
You can find all of Lyle's books on his website here:

A big thank you as always to Lyle for joining me.
